I have spent over twenty years in exam rooms in Newnan, Georgia, listening to parents ask the same quiet question in a hundred different ways: Is this actually good for my child?
As a board-certified pediatrician, I have read the labels. I've seen the fillers, the unstudied doses, the "natural" claims that don't hold up under a physician's scrutiny. And as a father myself, I've stood in the supplement aisle at 9pm, tired, holding a bottle in each hand, wishing someone with my training had already done the homework for me.
Many years ago, my daughter was recommended a multivitamin with iron. My wife was the one who first raised the concern — as mothers so often do, she noticed it before anyone else, and she wasn't going to settle for just anything. So together, we walked aisle after aisle looking for something our daughter could actually take. One had too much sugar. Another was missing the ingredients she needed. Another simply didn't taste good enough for a child to swallow twice a day without a fight. With every option we ruled out, her concern — and mine — only grew. She's a young woman now, doing well — but that experience never left us.
I didn't set out to build a supplement brand. I set out to solve a problem I lived with twice over: once in my practice, and once at my own kitchen table.
